Principal Dentist
Dr Kalis attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in 1994 and following a course of postgraduate study, a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry from the University of Adelaide in 2007. With a progressive mindset he is committed to ongoing training and professional development to stay at the forefront, attending numerous courses and educational programs every year, both locally and abroad. For over a decade, he maintained an active teaching and organising role through his various activities within the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry culminating in appointment to both State and Federal Presidency roles as well as various speaking engagements as a key opinion leader.
Dentist
Dr Gadeer Ali Sarhan was born and raised in Sydney where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine and previously Bachelor of Oral Health Degrees at the University of Sydney. She was recipient of the Noel Martin Memorial Prize for Research, Prize for Proficiency in Pre-Clinical Operative Dentistry and Prize for Proficiency in Restorative Dentistry. Gadeer has quite a number of years’ experience working in private practice as an Oral Health Therapist and has frequently helped us out on a casual basis where she also received intensive coaching from Dr Bill himself. She also has experience in government hospitals in the Metro NSW area, including Nepean Centre of Oral Health, Westmead Dental Hospital and Sydney Dental Hospital, as well as international volunteering in Thailand, Vanuatu and Indonesia. She now joins our team as an extension of our services and will also be helping care for Christine’s patients while Christine is away on maternity leave. Outside of Dentistry, Gadeer enjoys cooking, exploring different cuisines and staying active.

Dalvin Tran our passionate Oral Health Therapist is eager to bring his wealth of experience and commitment to your dental well-being as part of the Padstow Dental team. A proud graduate of the University of Sydney with extended adult scope, Dalvin plays a key role in elevating the standard of care and prevention at our dental practice.

Christine is one of our highly skilled and widely experienced dental practitioners and a true asset to our team. Her holistic and engaging approach to treatment as well as her nurturing nature allows for the finest patient experience. You’ll find that her thorough outlook on patient care and effective communication style allows you to feel comfortable and confident that the best of care is being taken with your treatment journey. Christine works in close collaboration with Dr. Kalis in order to plan and deliver optimal comprehensive care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Robert Turnbull, with 15 years of experience in Dental Sedation, both in hospital and private practice settings, is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives safe, stress-free, and high-quality dental care. He is fully endorsed as a Dental Sedationist, undergoing annual re-endorsement training in Medical Emergency Management. Additionally, Dr. Turnbull serves on the council of The Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology, overseeing the Annual Scientific Meeting and Emergency Management Training. He also instructs dental students at the University of Sydney in IV Sedation, Medical Emergency Management, Anxiety and Pain Management, and Nitrous Oxide Relative Analgesia. With a background in dentistry from the University of Sydney and extensive experience in both military and private practice settings, Dr. Turnbull possesses the expertise to ensure optimal dental care for all patients.

Dr. Emma Black, a seasoned and amiable dentist, continues to practice dentistry alongside sedation. She graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and after completing a year of vocational training in the UK moved to Sydney. She received her postgraduate qualification in conscious sedation and pain control in 2009 from the University of Sydney and has an eager interest in caring for phobic patients. Dr Black is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons where she is also a board member who currently holds the position of Secretary. Renowned for her compassionate and nurturing demeanour, she guides patients through their sedation experiences with reassurance and expertise.

Dr. Jaime Maung graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry (Hons) from the University of Sydney in 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (Hons) from UTS. She works at Westmead Dental Hospital, practicing general dentistry, teaching, and assisting refugees. Jaime’s experience spans regional and rural clinics across NSW, including Broken Hill and Dubbo, and overseas in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with Rotary International. Originally from Myanmar, Jaime is a proud Australian and busy mother of two, with a global upbringing across countries like Malaysia and the USA.
