Dental Fillings

Tooth decay, or cavities, pose a significant threat to oral health and can cause discomfort if left untreated. Dental fillings offer a solution to this issue and help restore your teeth, chewing and smile to its ideal state.

Determining the Need for Fillings

During your dental appointment, your dentist will conduct an oral examination, including x-rays and photographs, to diagnose any cavities. Based on their findings, they will recommend the appropriate treatment tailored to your specific case.

White Fillings

Our practice utilises advanced composite fillings, also known as white fillings, to treat cavities. These fillings are custom-coloured to match your tooth, eliminating the need for silver mercury fillings. Completed in a single visit by our experienced dentists, white fillings restore the tooth’s function and appearance. By sealing off spaces where bacteria can enter, fillings help prevent further decay and restore damaged teeth to normal function.

Glass Ionomer Fillings

In cases where decay or fractures affect a significant portion of the tooth, a dental crown may be recommended. Alternatively, glass ionomer fillings, another tooth-coloured material, can be used to restore teeth. Often employed as a temporary filling or foundation beneath composite fillings, glass ionomer fillings provide effective restoration for damaged teeth.
